Swan, Henry Brisbane (1858 - 1926)

Born: 1858  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 18 October 1926  Sydney.
Henry Brisbane Swan was a partner in Swan Brothers timber merchants in Balmain, New South Wales. He patented a method for the "Deodorization, Drying, Solidification, and Utilization of Blood of Sheep, Cattle, and other Animals, for Manure and other Useful Purposes" in 1877. From 1889 Swan was also a member of the Balmain Municipal Council and its mayor for four separate periods. He was also a member of the Balmain Hospital Committee for around thirty years, its President for nine years and a Director and Chairman of the Balmain New Ferry Co.
