Born: 25 April 1924 Melbourne?, Victoria, Australia

John Melvin Swan was Dean of the Faculty of Science 1976-84 and Professor of Organic Chemistry, Monash University 1966-84. Before joining Monash he worked with ICIANZ Ltd and CSIRO. Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1968, Fellow, Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering 1994.
