John Phillip Chalmers is Senior Director and Head of Research Advisory Unit of the George Institute for International Health, Chairman of Board of Directors of The George Foundation for International Health, Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney, Emeritus Professor of Medicine at Flinders University of South Australia, and Honorary Consultant Physician at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Central Sydney Area Health Service and Chairman of National Heart, Stroke and Vascular Health Strategies Group which reports to the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council. His contributions to the medical science have been many and he is internationally recognised as a leader in hypertension and cardiovascular physiology.
