Lourensz, Robert S. (Bob)

Born: Sri Lanka
Robert S. (Bob) Lourensz worked for the Bureau of Meteorology and his work on the climatologies of tornados and tropical cyclones was sought out by national and international experts. Prior to emigrating to Australia in the early 1950s, Lourensz worked with the meteorological service in Ceylon. He joined the Bureau of Meteorology as an observer, and eventually worked in the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre.
