Bishop, Ruth Frances (1933 - )

Born: 12 May 1933
Ruth Frances Bishop was a research assistant at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, where she worked in the Department of Gastroenterology as a microbiologist. She was later appointed a Research associate in the University of Melbourne's Department of Paediatrics. In 1973 she led a team that discovered the virus that is the most common cause of gastroenteritis in young children.
