Richard Alexis Zann, Reader in Zoology at La Trobe University, has strong research interests in the Zebra Finch.

Career Highlights
Reader, Department of Zoology, La Trobe University. His main research interest is the Zebra Finch, where his long-term field studies have allowed meaningful interpretations of laboratory studies of the species worldwide. Also known for his ornithological work in the island of Krakatau, near Java, which has placed Krakatau alongside the Galapagos Islands in the annals of island biogeography. D.L. Serventy Medal, Birds Australia 1998.
