Fisher, Nellie (1907 - 1995)

 
Industrial chemist
Born: 15 October 1907  England.  Died: 10 August 1995  Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Nellie Fisher, the first female scientist to head a chemical laboratory in Australia, worked for Kodak in Melbourne 1939-62. She had earlier worked for Kodak in England and was chosen to go to Australia because of her vast knowledge of the preparation and testing of sensitising dyes.

Born England, 15 October 1907. Died Melbourne, 10 August 1995. Educated England (PhD). Ilford 1933-34, Kodak Limited, Harrow 1934-39, Kodak research laboratory, Abbotsford, Victoria 1939-48, founder and head, Kodak emulsion laboratory 1948-62.
