| Robert Henry Pulleine was a consultant physician specialising in diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat. He practised in Adelaide. He was also a keen naturalist, who had several species of plants and animals named after him. |

| Born 7 June 1869. Died 13 June 1935. Arrived in Australia 1881. Education started at University of Adelaide and completed at University of Sydney (MB, ChM 1898). Public Library of South Australia 1885-87, teacher, Adelaide Collegiate School 1888-91, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital 1899, private practice, Gympie, Queensland 1900-1905, studied diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat in Germany and Britain 1906-07, private practice, Adelaide 1907-?. Part-owner of Walwa Private Hospital. President of six learned societies. Interested in botany, anthropology, marine biology, history, entomology (particularly arachnology). Discovered three new shells, including "Chlamys pulleineanus" and a new species of Mesembrianthemum, "Carpo brotus (Sarcozoma) pulleinei". Six other species of animals and plants were named for him. |
