Born: 5 December 1902 Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Died: 30 August 1994. | |
Alan Knox Denmead worked for the Geological Survey of Queensland 1927-1967, from 1956 as Chief Government Geologist. He was a close friend and collaborator of Professor Dorothy Hill of the University of Queensland, with whom he co-edited "Geology of Queensland" in 1960. |

Born 5 December 1902. Died 30 August 1994. Educated University of Queensland (MSc 1926). Geological Survey of Queensland 1927-67 (District Geologist, Charters Towers 1946-50, Assistant Chief Government Geologist 1950-56, Chief Government Geologist 1956-67). Sometime Chairman, Queensland Division, Geological Society of Australia, Federal President 1962-63. In 1991 the Queensland Division established the annual A.K. Denmead Lecture in recognition of his services to geology in Queensland and to the Society. |
