Mungomery, Reginald William (1901 - 1968)

Born: 11 March 1901  Childers, Queensland, Australia.  Died: 1968  Brisbane, Queensland.
Reginald William Mungomery worked for the Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations, Queensland from 1925. In 1935 he was sent to Hawaii to collect cane toads for introduction to Queensland to control cane beetles. He brought back 102 cane toads by ship and their progeny were distributed in north Queensland shortly after.

Laboratory Assistant, Commonwealth Prickly Pear Laboratory, Brisbane, May 1923 and later at Westwood; Assistant Entomologist, Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations, Department of Agriculture and Stock, Queensland, from March 1925, Assistant Entomologist, Bundaberg 1926-34, Entomologist, Meringa from 1935.
