Priestley, Henry James (1883 - 1932)

Born: 10 April 1883  Crouch Hill, England.  Died: 26 February 1932.
Henry James Priestley was Professor, first of mathematics and physics, and later of mathematics, University of Queensland 1910-32. He played an active role in the academic life of the university, with service on the senate, as dean of the faculty of science, as president of the board of faculties (later professorial board) and as a member of many standing committees of senate and board. He was also a Founder and long-term president of the Queensland branch of the Mathematical Association of Great Britain.
