Chauncy, Philip Lamothe Snell (1816 - 1880)

Philip Lamothe S. Chauncy was Assistant Surveyor in Western Australia from 1841 to 1853> he then moved to Victoris where he worked as a Surveyor at McIvor, Echuca, Dunolly 1860, Castlemaine 1867 and Ballarat. He was a major contributor to R. Brough Smyth's "Aborigines of Victoria" (1878).
