Born: 17 May 1817 Bridgend, Perthshire, Scotland. Died: 5 February 1903 Australia. | ||
John Ross migrated to Australia in 1836 and drove stock over much of South Australia. He led the expedition which selected the route for the overland telegraph 1870-71 and also the Thomas Elder expedition to north-west South Australia 1874. |
