| Born: 1801 Toongabbie, New South Wales, Australia. Died: 30 December 1884 Parramatta, New South Wales. | ||
| James Pye ran large orchards in the Field of Mars near Ryde, and Seven Hills districts from around 1810 and became an authority on fruit- growing. He was founding member of the Cumberland, Camden and Cook Agricultural Society in 1843. |
