Broken Hill Proprietary's mine, Broken Hill ca 1899; Assistant geologist, Geological Survey of Queensland 1900; Deputy Chief Government Geologist 1921; geological surveyor 1931-36; Chief Government Geologist 1931-46; executive director, Aerial, Geological and Geophysical Survey of North Australia from 1934.
