Born Sydney 12 October 1875; died Melbourne 3 March 1955. Education, Sydney University (B.E. 1897) and McGill University (M.Sc. 1899). 1851 Exhibition scholar 1897-99. Engineer, N.S.W. Railways & Tramways, 1902-21. Chief engineer, Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways, 1921-38. Consulting engineer, Melbourne, 1938-42. Commissioner, State Electricity Commission Victoria 1942-45.
