Austin, Lawrence (1926 - 2000)

Born: 22 December 1926.  Died: 7 November 2000.
Lawrence (Lawrie) Austin was Reader in Biochemistry at Monash University until 1991 when he retired. However soon afterwards he accepted a post as Senior Scientist and Head of the Muscular Dystrophy Research Unit at St Vincent's Hospital. He pioneered experimental neuroscience in Australia and contributed greatly to the field in general.
