Grimshaw, Roger Hamilton James (1938 - )

Born: 13 December 1938  Auckland, New Zealand
Roger Hamilton J. Grimshaw is Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Lougborough University, UK and Director of the University's Centre for Nonlinear Mathematics and Applications. He also holds honorary positions at the University of New South Wales and at University College in London. Grimshaw's research involves studying the theory of linear and nonlinear waves in the atmosphere and oceans and he has published over 200 journal articles and five books in this and other fields. Grimshaw is a regular invited lecturer at international conferences and has served on the editorial board on numerous international journals, including Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics, Nonlinear Processes in Geophysics, and Wave Motion. He has also served as Chairman of the Division of Applied Mathematics of the Australian Mathematics Society and on National and Academy advisory committees for Mathematics and Meteorology.
