Jane Lomax-Smith has worked various in research and teaching positions in hospitals and universities in London, Adelaide and the USA. Her pathology work spans hospital departments and private practice. Lomax-Smith served two terms as Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide. She was elected to the House of Assembly, South Australia, in 2002.
