Born: 22 September 1941  Zagreb, Yugoslavia
Stjepan Marcelja is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Australian National University. He has worked on superconducting thin films, liquid crystals, biological membranes, signals in the visual cortex and the structure of microemulsions.
