L. Roos wrote l'Industrie Vinicole Meridionale in 1898. This was translated by Raymond Dubois and William Percy Wilkinson and published in 1900 by the Victorian Department of Agriculture, Viticultural Station, as Wine-making in Hot Climates. Although it remained a textbook for decades it was many years before it made much impact.
