Born: 29 September 1945  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Ross Howard Street was appointed lecturer at Macquarie University in 1970 and was awarded a personal chair in Mathematics in 1990. His particular research interest is category theory.

Born Sydney, 29 September 1945. Educated University of Sydney (BSc (hons) 1966, PhD 1969). Part-time Tutor of Mathematics, University of Sydney 1964-68; Postdoctoral Fellowship, University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) 1968-69; Assistant Professor, Tulane University (New Orleans) 1969-70; Lecturer, Macquarie University 1970-71, Senior Lecturer 1972-74, Associate Professor 1975-90, Professor (Personal Chair of Mathematics) 1990- , Director, Macquarie University Centre of Australian Category Theory since 1999. Edgeworth-David Medal, Royal Society of New South Wales 1977; Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1989; Fellow, Australian Mathematical Society 1995.
