Davies, John Griffiths (1904 - 1969)

Born: 10 May 1904  Aberystwyth, Wales.  Died: 15 March 1969  South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
John Griffiths Davies became the first head of pasture research for CSIRO Division of Plant Industry in 1938. He moved to Brisbane in 1952 to take charge of what was to become the new Division of Tropical Pastures. His research was involved with tropical legumes that would grow in Queensland's nitrogen deficient soils and allow stock levels to be increased.
