O'Brien, Robert Gordon (1897? - 1956)

 
Food scientist and Analytical chemist
Born: 1897?.  Died: 24 April 1956.
Robert Gordon O'Brien was an analytical chemist who retired in 1952 as Senior Assistant Government Analyst. He had a very wide knowledge of food chemistry and was chiefly responsible for many of the provisions of the Pure Food Act. O'Brien was also Executive Officer of the New South Wales Scientific Manpower (Chemical) Advisory Sub-Committee and President of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, New South Wales branch.
