Born: 24 May 1932  Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 10 October 1997.
Alexander William Rodgers was Director of Mount Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatories 1987-92.

Born Newcastle, 24 May 1932. Died Canberra, 10 October 1997. Educated New England University College, University of Sydney (BSc 1953) and Australian National University (PhD). Carnegie Research Fellow, Mt Wilson and Palomar Observatories and Fullbright scholar, Royal Greenwich Observatory 1960-62, research fellow, Mt Stromlo, Australian National University 1962-67, fellow 1967-70, senior fellow 1970-73, professor 1974-92, Acting Director, Mount Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatories 1986, Director 1987-92, Emeritus Professor 1993-97.
