| Born: 12 April 1918 St Peters, South Australia, Australia. Died: 13 November 1986. |
| Alfred Dudley R. Marlow spent his entire working life (1939-78) with the staff of the South Australian Department of Chemistry, culminating in his appointment as Director of Chemistry in 1959. He was always concerned with safety in the laboratory, and was also a member of a number of committees involved in the transport, storage and handling of dangerous substances. |
