John Henry P. Dingle was Chemist-in-charge of the Lismore laboratory of the Sydney Smelting Company, where he undertook pioneering work on the efficient microanalysis of organochlorine and organophosphate pesticide residues in meat and dairy products. After completing a Diploma in Metallurgy at the Sydney Technical College, Dingle worked as an Apprentice in an iron factory. He then joined Sydney Smelting Company in 1938 as an Assayer and Analytical Chemist and was subsequently transferred to their Tasmanian and North Queensland operations before joining the Lismore laboratory. Dingle was also a member of the Board of Tick Control, New South Wales Department of Agriculture from 1948. |
