Collins, James Desmond (1929 - 1968)

 
Manufacturing chemist
Born: 1929.  Died: 11 April 1968.
James Desmond Collins worked for T. Tristram Pty Ltd from 1951 to 1965 where he rose to Chief Chemist. Next he moved to Redcliffe Aerated Water Manufacturing Co. (1965-1976) where he was appointed Manager. Prior to 1951 he studied for a Diploma of Industrial Chemistry at the Brisbane Central Technical College and then joined A.C.F. & Shirleys Fertilizer Works. Collins was President of the Queensland Food Technology Association from 1959 to 1960.
