Byrt, F. John (1924 - 1979)

 
Metallurgist
F. John Byrt spent his entire working life at McPhersons Limited, where he rose to the position of chief chemist at McPhersons Research Pty Ltd. He also lectured to the evening classes for the Metallurgy Department of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology for some years. Byrt was President of the Victorian Branch of the Australasian Corrosion Association; President of the Melbourne Chapter of The American Electroplaters Society; and Chairman of various committees of the Standards Association of Australia.
