Robert Peter C. (Peter) Pockley is a science writer who runs courses in basic communication skills for scientists and scholars through the University of Technology, Sydney. He has been the Science and Education Columnist for the Sun-Herald since 1989 and has contributed to many other newspapers and journals, both in Australia and abroad. Pockley was educated at the Universities of Melbourne (BSc, Dip Ed) and Oxford (DPhil).
