O'Kane, Mary Josephine

Born: Mount Morgan, Queensland, Australia
Mary Josephine O'Kane was Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Adelaide from 1994-96, when she was appointed Vice-Chancellor. She was formerly Dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering at the University of Canberra 1989-93. In previous years she spent some time at the Institute of Information Science at Turin University. She is a computer expert whose specialty is computer voice recognition.
