Born: 15 January 1830  Birmingham, England.  Died: 21 May 1878  Port Willunga, South Australia, Australia.
John Howard Clark joined his father's firm of accountants and merchants after an unsuccessful attempt to operate as an assayer. He was editor of the "Register" 1870-78.

Tried unsuccessfully to operate as an assayer; joined his father's firm of accountants and merchants; a proprietor of the "Register" from 1865 and its editor 1870-78. Active in the formation of the Adelaide Philosophical Society and the South Australian Institute.
