Born: 29 January 1917  Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 4 December 1971  Cambridge, England.
(Sir) Ronald Sydney Nyholm was Professor of Chemistry at University College, London from 1955. Earlier he had taught at the Sydney Technical College 1940- 51 and at the New South Wales University of Technology 1952-54. Nyholm was educated at the University of Sydney and University College London.
