Born: 19 September 1905 Vienna, Austria. Died: 26 March 2001. | ||
Fritz Henry Reuter was Associate Professor of Food Technology, School of Chemical Engineering, University of New South Wales 1952-70. He taught a number of Colombo plan students and continued education assistance to developing countries after his retirement, often with tenures as a visiting professor. He was also a strong supporter of uniform food regulations and played a significant role in their adoption in New Zealand and Australia. |

Carnegie Research Fellowship, University of Sydney 1936-37; head, Organic Chemistry Department, Sydney Technical College 1938-52; associate professor and foundation head, Department of Food Technology, New South Wales University of Technology (later University of New South Wales) 1952-70. Chairman, Food Standards Standing Committee, National Health and Medical Research Council for 20 years; Editor, Food Technology in Australia for 30 years; Australia Award, US Institute of Food Technologists 1962; International Award, Institute of Food Technologists 1971; Fellow, Royal Institute of Chemistry, Royal Australian Chemical Institute and Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology. |
