| Rhodes Whitmore Fairbridge, who grew up in Pinjarra, Western Australia, was Professor of Geology, Columbia University, New York from 1955, later becoming Professor Emeritus of Geology. Although he has done most of his work overseas he has written on Australian stratigraphy. |
