Robert Francis Thyer worked for the Bureau of Mineral Resources (BMR) for its inception in 1946 until his retirement in 1973. He rose from Supervising Geophysicist to Chief Director (Operations). Before that he worked for the Mineral Resources Survey which formed the nucleus of BMR. Thyer was also Commonwealth Geological Liaison Officer London (1969-1971) and Assistant Director (Geophysics) for a brief period just before his retirement. |
