Hirst, Henry (1907 - 1984)

Born: 4 April 1907.  Died: 19 August 1984.
Henry Hirst completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of London and carried out postdoctoral studies at the University of Freiburg, Germany. He spent some time working for Metropolitan Vickers Ltd. in the UK before coming to Australia. He joined the University of Melbourne as an assistant director of research in 1937.
