Born: 31 December 1820 Scotsdyke, Scotland. Died: 4 February 1904 Eight Miles Plains, Queensland, Australia. | ||
Walter Hill was the Queensland Colonial Botanist and Director of the Botanic Gardens 1855-81 and introduced tropical fruits to Queensland. Earlier he collected for Macleay and in 1854 undertook a disastrous expedition north in the ketch "Vision". |
