Born: 11 July 1926  Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 14 October 1988  Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Andrew Crowther Hurley joined CSIRO, Section (later Division) of Chemical Physics in 1953 and remained until his death. He studied at the University of Melbourne and Trinity College, Cambridge, and was acknowledged as an expert on group theory and its uses in quantum chemistry.

Born Melbourne, 11 July 1926. Died Melbourne, 14 October 1988. Educated Universities of Melbourne (MA 1949) and Cambridge (PhD 1952). CSIRO Section of Chemical Physics 1953; Fellowship, Trinity College, Cambridge 1954-56; Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1956-57; CSIRO Section (Division after 1958) of Chemical Physics 1957-87. Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1972.
