Owen, Richard (1804 - 1892)

Born: 20 July 1804  England.  Died: 18 November 1892.
(Sir) Richard Owen was the first Hunterian Professor of Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, Royal College of Surgeons, London 1836-56. He did pioneer work on parthenogenesis and opposed Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection.
