Mitchell, John (1848 - 1928)

Palaeontologist
Born: 9 March 1848  Baillieston, Lanark, Scotland.  Died: 14 January 1928  Waverley, New South Wales, Australia.
John Mitchell worked as a schoollteacher in New South Wales but also pursued an interest in palaeontology collecting fossils, insects and plants and publishing numerous articles. In 1898 he became science master at Newcastle Technical College.
