Born: 24 November 1903
Allan Robert Callaghan was Principal of the Roseworthy Agricultural College of South Australia from1932 to 1949 and then South Australian Director of Agriculture (1949-1959). He was educated at the Universities of Sydney (BScAgr) and Oxford (DPhil) and spent the next four years in plant breeding research with New South Wales Department of Agriculture.
