Haswell, William Aitcheson (1854 - 1925)

Born: 5 August 1854  Edinburgh, Scotland.  Died: 24 January 1925  Point Piper, New South Wales, Australia.
William Aitcheson Haswell was trained in Scotland, and undertook research in Australia from 1878 into marine zoology and in 1882 joined the University of Sydney. He was appointed Professor of Biology in 1890 (restyled zoology in 1915). He wrote widely on marine biology and zoology.
