French, Charles (1842 - 1933)

Naturalist and Entomologist
Born: 10 September 1842  Lewisham, Kent, England.  Died: 21 May 1933  Malvern, Victoria, Australia.
Charles French worked as a nurseryman in Victoria from 1858. In 1864 he was appointed to the staff of the Botanic Gardens and in 1873 was in charge of fern and tropical plant propagation. He was made Victorian Government Entomologist in 1889.
