Blakey, Othman Frank (1897 - 1952)

Born: 10 November 1897  Herberton, Queensland, Australia.  Died: 27 March 1952  Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
Othman Frank Blakey was professor of civil engineering at the University of Western Australia from 1947 until his death. He had previously been a lecturer in the school of engineering and then associate professor.

Structural engineer, Barlow and Higgins architectural firm, Melbourne 1921-24; consultant in private practice 1924 till after World War II; lecturer-in-charge, department of materials and structures, school of engineering, University of Western Australia 1927, associate professor, professor of civil engineering from 1947. Chairman, Perth division, Institution of Engineers, Australia 1936, 1942; president, Institution of Engineers, Australia 1945.
