Born: 15 August 1871  Grafton, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 1 January 1937  Broadstairs, Kent, England.
(Sir) Grafton Elliot Smith entered the University of Sydney in 1888 and graduated MB and ChM in 1893. He was a RMO at the Prince Alfred Hospital 1893 and a Demonstrator in Anatomy 1894-5. He left Australia in 1896 and later held professorial appointments in Egypt and England.
