Skertchly, Sydney Barber Josiah (1850 - 1926)

Born: 14 December 1850  Ansty, Leicestershire, England.  Died: 2 February 1926  Molendinar, Queensland, Australia.
Sydney Barber J. Skertchly arrived in Brisbane from Hong Kong in 1891 and was Assistant Government Geologist for the Geological Survey of Queensland 1895-97. He lectured widely and wrote on natural history and science for the "Brisbane Courier".
