Born: 23 October 1755  Alençon, France.  Died: 8 January 1834  Paris, France.
Jacques-Julien Houtou de La Billardière joined the voyages of "Recherche" and "Esperance" in 1791 which visited Australia. He acted as naturalist and collected not only plants but animals, fishes, birds and insects.
