Born: 11 November 1883  Nymagee, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 12 July 1963  New Port, New South Wales, Australia.
Leo Arthur Cotton was appointed Professor of Geology and Physical Geography at the University of Sydney 1925-48 after being associated with the department from 1908.
