Crowther, William Lodewyk (1817 - 1885)

Surgeon and Naturalist
Born: 15 April 1817  Haarlem, Netherlands.  Died: 12 April 1885.
William Lodewyk Crowther arrived in Hobart Town in 1825 with his family and developed a strong interest in natural history. He also had wide business interests and was Premier of Tasmania 1878-9. He was a corresponding member of the Royal Zoological Society.
